Com sabeu aquest prova es invitacional, es a dir que només hi participen el surfers que han estat convidats, i només es surfegen ones més grans de 20 peus, que son 6.096. la peli Surf’s Up està inspirada amb aquest prova.

Aquest anys es l’any dels dels basco, Ibon al Eddie Aika, Aritz al WCT. L’elit també està prop de casa.
