Hobbit2IPPhone.pl Beta Release |

There will be two types of responses to this post, depending on if you can make use of the code or not; “Cool!” or “Uhhh okay…”
Summary: Hobbit2IPPhone is an application I have written that provides a Hobbit Monitor display on a Cisco 79xx IP Phone. The display is fully interactive, as it displays the current hosts that are alerting (with optional audio alert), as well as ability to select one of the hosts and see the full status message.
For the non-technical folks, this is a program that enables our phones at work to become mini systems monitoring displays…that should sound cool even if you don’t know what that entails, right?
I intend to do a proper SourceForge release once I get the code cleaned up and more portable. I’m releasing this beta because several folks who use Hobbit are eager to try it out.
Note: This beta version is setup to run as an unprivledged user, it is not ready to run as a Call Manager “Service” in it’s current form.
Grab the beta Here. Note you should rename hobbit.txt to hobbit.cgi
