If you don’t already know about fantastically geeky web comic xkcd, go and have a look. No, really, I’ll still be here when you get back.

For my money, there aren’t enough t-shirts available about regular expressions. Sure, they aren’t as glamorous as, say, String Theory or Quantum Mechanics, but where would we be without them? In a world with far fewer Perl scripts, that’s where, and nobody wants that.

I’m not normally a huge fan of back prints (after all, if I can’t see what’s on the shirt, what’s the point?) but I made an exception here. I’d have been happier if the print exclaimed “PERL!” on the back, in the same way that the original comic did, but you can’t have everything. I’m really hoping that Randall Monroe comes out with a shirt showing Stallman avec Katanas soon, but I’m not holding my breath - that barge has probably already sailed.

“/Everybody stand back/ I know regular expressions” is available for $17.00 from the xkcd store and is printed on a Gildan Heavyweight shirt. Lovely.
